Terms & conditions
Terms & conditions
These terms & conditions govern use of Online Diff Checker at onlinediffchecker.com (the “site”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the tool.
The service
The site is a free, in-browser diff checker. You paste or load two texts and run a comparison on your device. It is provided as-is. It does not replace a careful read of the two documents, and it does not warrant that every difference is found or that every unchanged region is identical in every encoding edge case.
There is no account, no paid plan in this version, and no obligation to keep any particular feature available. We may change, pause, or stop the site.
License to use
You may use the tool for personal or commercial work. You do not acquire any ownership of the site, the name, the mark, or the underlying software by using it. You keep whatever rights you already have in the text you paste.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to overload, scrape, or interfere with the site in a way that harms other visitors.
- Probe or attack the host, CDN, or related infrastructure.
- Use the site to break the law in your jurisdiction.
- Misrepresent the site as a hosted service that stores or audits your documents for you.
Advertising
The site may display third-party ads. Ads are not part of the comparison. We do not control the advertisers’ sites or claims. Clicking an ad is at your own risk. How ads use cookies is described in the privacy policy.
Your content
Comparisons run in your browser. We do not want a copy of the paste, and you should not email it to us. What stays on your device (editors, optional history, theme) is described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for that device, including shared computers and backups of localStorage.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the diff is complete, that the site is error-free, or that it will be available at any given time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator of Online Diff Checker is not liable for decisions made from a comparison, for lost work, for data that remains in your browser storage, or for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, even if advised of the possibility. If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site in the twelve months before the claim — which, for this free tool, is zero.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The date below is the last update. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
